The Virden Oil Capitals are now 2-0 to start the season after the club defeated the Kings 6-4 in Dauphin on Saturday night.
Newcomer Darren Gisti scored twice for Virden in the win, while Dylan Thiessen, Ben Dalke, Braden Billaney and Kirklan Lycar netted the other tallies for the Oil Caps.
Riley McVeigh stopped 26 of 30 shots between the pipes to pick up his second win in as many nights for Virden.
It was Dauphin’s home opener for the season. The club is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The Oil Caps’ next game action is Tuesday night when they travel to Wayway to battle the Wolverines.
