2015 Fall Camp Report

August 31

Virden, MB – Over 45 young men arrived in Virden on the weekend to kick off another season of MJHL Hockey here in Oil Country.

A mixture of returning veterans, draft picks and free agent rookies made up two teams and spent Friday and Saturday running through drills, practicing and taking part in mini-games.

On Sunday, the top 40 players split into two squads and competed in the annual Intrasquad game for the chance to hoist the 2nd edition of the “Garry Cup”.

The game was quick paced from the get go. Over 150 fans in attendance  saw some nice goals, big hits, quick saves and even a fight with team Black mounting a late comeback to win 7-6 in double overtime.
