The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce they have signed 2006 defenceman Rhylan Baxter from Winnipeg, MB.
Baxter was Virden’s 4th round pick (51st overall) in the 2022 MJHL Prospect Draft. He played the 21-22 season in Winnipeg with the U17 AAA Wild where he put up 11 goals and 10 assists in 30 games and then due to an injury shortened season last year finished the season with the Sturgeon Heights Huskies putting up 7 points in only 11 games.
GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey was happy to get Baxter signed ahead of training camp, “Baxter is a big body that can play a tough, in your face game as well as make a good first pass and get pucks through to the net. He did a tremendous job recovering from an injury and worked very hard to get himself back into shape and he came in and had a very good Prospect camp here”, said Ramsey. The Oil Caps would like to welcome Rhylan and his family to the organization.
