January 9, 2017

The Virden Oil Capitals acquire 20-year-old defenceman, Hayden Pierce(96) from the Dauphin Kings for the rights to Nick Hatley(’00)

The 6’2”, 195lb defenceman from Winnipeg, Manitoba played in 40 games for the Dauphin Kings last season, earning 10 points (2G,8A). This year he has played in 6 games for the Kings, registering 1 point (1A).

Pierce will be a welcome addition on the blue line for the Oil Capitals.  Virden Oil Capitals Head Coach, Troy Leslie said, “Hayden is a solid puck moving defender, who will bring a great deal of leadership to our room, as he was a former captain in Dauphin. He is a complete player, who plays with a great deal of intelligence. We look forward to getting him into Virden and settled into our lineup.”
