Caps Earn First Win

September 28 –

Last night on the road the Caps earned their first win of the season over the Winkler Flyers ; 3-2. 

Ben Dalke would find the back of the net first for the Caps, scoring at 4:32 in the first period from Mack Hardy.  After 20 minutes of play, the Caps lead the game 1-0.  The Oil Caps outshoot  the Flyers in the first period 16-8.

The Caps scored their second goal of the game at 9:38 in the second period to stretch the lead; 2-0 Caps. The second goal was scored by Jeran Knorr assisted by Drayson Skulmoski and Tristen Cross. The Flyers kept battling in the second period and scored their first goal of the game at 15:54 in the second period. After 40 minutes of play, the Caps were in the lead 2-1. Shots on goal in the second period; 14- 12 Caps. 

At 16:15 in the third period Ben Dalke scored his second goal of the game on a powerplay assisted by Jeran Knorr and Mack Hardy, 3-1 Caps. Nearing the end of the third period the Flyers cut the lead to 1 on a powerplay goal at 19:30 in the third. The Caps would come out of 60 minutes of play in the lead, 3-2.

The Caps have currently outshot every opponent that they have played this season. 

Multi-point performances for a few Caps players last night – Ben Dalke (2 goals), Jeran Knorr (1 goal & 1 assist), and Captain Mack Hardy (2 assists). Hardy is on a two-game multi-point streak, last game also earning two assists.
