Caps Take a Bite Out of the Wolverines

Russell, MB – The Oil Caps offense was rolling on Thursday night as they knocked off the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 7-3. 

Dylan Thiessen (1G-2A) and Ben Dalke (2G-1A) lead the way for Virden who got six different goal scorers in the first period to chase Wayway net minder Greg Harney from the goal after just 14 shots.

Drake Bodie, Kyle Salaway, Cole Oliver and Mack Hardy rouded out the Caps scoring while Patrick Zubick made 23 saves for the win. 

For Zubick, it was his first back to back starts of the season and with the win, he moves to 6-5 on the season. 

With the win, the Caps move to 26-16 on the year and sit seven points back of third place Winkler. 

The Caps continue their road heavy schedule tonight at the MTS Iceplex for a meeting with the Blues.
