Cochrane named MNP player of the month for January

Landyn Cochrane is the Meyers Norris Penny player of the month for January.

The 20-year-old forward had nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 12 games, which included three straight three-point performances against Swan Valley on Jan. 27, Neepawa on Jan. 28 and Wayway on Jan. 31.

“Landyn has come in since the beginning and been a threat offensively most every night,” said Jamie Hodson, director of business and hockey operations for the Oil Capitals. “He is playing with a ton of confidence right now and we’re being rewarded from a team standpoint.”

In saying that, Hodson added that the entire team has been moving the puck well as of late.

“This award could have gone several different ways so it speaks to how our whole group is performing.”

Nice work Landyn!
