The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce that forwards Ryland Kuczek from Winnipeg and Mitchell Collyer from Onanole have both signed letters of intent with the club.
Kuczek (2003) played 3 seasons in the Manitoba U18 AAA League for the Winnipeg Thrashers and this season put up 6 points in 4 games before covid halted the league. In the 2 seasons before that, Kuczek put up 59 points in 96 games for the Thrashers.
Collyer (2003) played last season with the U18 AAA Yellowhead Chiefs where he had 38 points in 48 games. Collyer started this season with Rink Hockey Academy in Winnipeg and had 2 goals and an assist in 3 games before things got shut down.
“We are very excited to add both Ryland and Mitchell to our hockey club for next season. Both guys have taken huge strides in the last year even though the pandemic has limited the number of games played. That shows the commitment that both Ryland and Mitchell have made to develop on and off the ice.
In Ryland we get a highly skilled playmaker that has the ability to put up points and has tremendous character. Mitchell is a very good all around forward who works extremely hard and brings some size and grit to our roster. He is a kid that we have seen get better and better every season”, said GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey.
“We would like to welcome both players and families to our organization and look forward to getting them here in the summer and again in the fall for training camp,” added Ramsey.
