Virden, MB – The Virden Oil Capitals will close out the MJHL pre-season on home ice tonight when they welcome the Dauphin Kings.
The two clubs met less than 24 hours ago with the Oil Caps loading the bus with a 4-2 win under their belt. For the Kings it was their first regulation loss of the pre-season.
Both teams will have a week off before their home opener’s on September 25th so tonight marks the last chance to impress the coaching staffs.
Game time tonight is 7:30 at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.
**Season Tickets will be available for pickup in the lobby prior to the game.

-Tonight marks the final game of the MJHL pre-season for both clubs. Both teams open the regular season on Friday, September 25th.

-Nolan Ross continues to lead the way offensively, 7 points in 5 games played.
-Jake Dudar is really finding his stride, has points in his last three games.
-Mack Hardy will return to the lineup tonight. He has missed all of the pre-season with an injury.
-Former Oil Cap Cameron Pateman kicked aside 31 saves in his debut with the Yorkton Terriers. The Dogs lost 6-4 to Weyburn.
Kings Notes:
-Kirklan Lycar and Chance Thomas were the goal scorers for the Kings last night.
-Last night marked the first regulation loss for the Kings in the pre-season.
-Assitant Coach Cody Nelson returns to TOGP, the former Oil Capital is in his first season behind the bench.
-The Kings roster features 15 players with junior A experience, 12 of which suited up for the Kings last season.
-Seven members of the Kings roster are from the Parkland Region.
-The Kings have 5 Americans in the lineup tonight, compared to the VOC’s 2.
