GAME FOUR VS THE PISTONS

Thursday, April 27th – Virden, MB

The Virden Oil Capitals played Game Four of the MJHL Turnbull Cup Finals against the Steinbach Pistons on Thursday night for a nearly sold-out game at Tundra Oil & Gas Place with an attendance of 1478.

The Oil Capitals got off to an early start with a goal from Joey Bielik at 1:32. Hunt with a backhanded pass to Bielik in front of the net to take an early lead.

At the halfway mark in the first Travis Hensrud scored putting the Pistons on the board and tying up the game. The first period ended 1-1.

At 1:13 into the second, Oil Caps defenceman Bray Rookes scored the Caps 2nd of the night taking the lead back 2-1. Bray from N. Miller and Nolan Chastko.

Not long after the Caps re-took the lead the Pistons scored 3 goals.

Kirk Mullen at 3:57, Dawson Millike at 15:34, and Davin Griffin at 16:54.

Before the second ended Josh Lehto scored at 19:24 with assists from Wilson and Chorney. The second period ended 4-3 in favor of the Pistons.

During the final period, only one goal was scored. Steins Kirk Mullen scored his 2nd of the night at 9:05 for the Pistons to take the win in game four by a score of 5-3.

Caps goaltender Owen LaRocque saved 31 shots on net while Steins goaltender Dominik Wasik saved 29 shots on net.

The Oil Caps and the Pistons will head to game Five in the MJHL Turnbull Cup Finals tomorrow, Saturday, April 29th at the TG Smith Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM.
