Game Recap – Oil Caps Home Opener

The Oil Capitals home opener brought fans to Tundra Oil & Gas Place for the first time to start the 2025/26 MJHL season. The Oil Caps ended up on top with a 3-1 win against the visiting Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

The Caps came out strong with 2 quick goals within the first 5 minutes of the game from Captain Ty Plaisier and Rookie forward Cohen Lewko. The score remained 2-0 through the first and second periods.

The Wolverines hit the board with a powerplay goal late in the third period from Aidan Herring. It wasn’t enough as Oil Cap London Hoilett scored an empty net goal with 38 seconds left in the third securing the Oil Caps a 3-1 win.

The Oil Caps next game action will be Friday September 26th at 7:30pm against the visiting Niverville Nighthawks.
