Grange Heading to the Oil Capital for Douglass

The Virden Oil Capitals have acquired forward, Torrin Grange (95), from the Nipawin Hawks of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for defenseman, Austin Douglas (96).

In Grange, the Oil Caps are getting a 6’3″, 202 lbs centre out of Marquette, Michigan. In 20 games this season with the Hawks, he’s registered five points (2 G, 3 A) along with 22 penalty minutes. The 19-year-old split his rookie season between the Fort Frances Lakers (SIJHL) and Elliot Lake Bobcats (NOJHL) registering 21 points (8 G, 13 A) in 59 games.

Heading to Nipawin is the recently acquired Douglas. The 6’6″ defenseman out of Winnipeg played in 10 games for the Oil Capitals, registering one assist and 19 penalty minutes.

This move happens on the day of the December 1st roster cut down deadline. All teams across the CJHL are limited to 25 cards for the remainder of the season. For a complete list of reported MJHL trades, click here.

Grange is expected to join the club this week and make his debut on Saturday night against the Kings in the team’s TSL Teddy Bear Toss.
