Greig Named MJHL’s Top Blue-Liner for December

Jordan Greig has been named the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Sherwood Hockey Defenseman of the Month for the month of December. The Souris native registered eight points (1 G, 7 A) in nine games on the month to earn the monthly award.

Greig is an alternate captain for the Oil Caps and is in his third season with the club. In 35 games on the season, Greig has tallied 20 points (6 G, 14 A) to lead all Virden defensemen.

The 20-year-old helped lead the Oil Caps to a 5-2-2 record in the month of December and have them sitting in fifth place in the MJHL standings.

Other Oil Caps who earned monthly recognition from the league were Soren Frederiksen and Dylan Thiessen. Frederiksen was a finalist for the RBC Player of the Month while Thiessen was also an honourable mention for the IBAM Rookie of the Month award handed out by the league.
