Hardy Nets Five in Win Over Dauphin

November 28

Dauphin, MB – Mack Hardy had a night to remember in Dauphin on Saturday night.

The Winnipeg product had five goals on route to a 7-2 win over the Kings at Credit Union Place.

Hardy opened the scoring just :45 seconds into the game and would go on to add three more before the period horn sounded.

Three of Hardy’s first period goals came on the power play. The Virden PP was solid again going 4 for 8 on the night.

Once again the Oil Caps offence was the story of the game. In 2 games vs the Kings this past week the Caps outscored Dauphin 12-2.

Drake Bodie continued his torrid scoring pace as well adding a goal and two assists. The former King has a goal and six assist vs his former team.

Dylan Thiessen quietly went about his business as well picking up three assists. While Ben Dalke, Zach Whitecloud and Davis Ross all had multi point nights.

It was a tough night for goaltenders as Connor Shaw and Darin Fox combined to make just 21 saves. Sean Kuehn made 16 saves in the Virden net.

Both of Dauphin’s goals came on the power play, something they couldn’t get working in their first meeting of the season on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Oil Capitals leapfrog the Winnipeg Blues into sole possession of 4th place in the MJHL standings.

The Caps are now off until Wednesday when they travel to the Yellowed Centre in Neepawa.
