Tyler Kirkup has been named the Meyers Norris Penny Oil Capitals player of the month for December.

The veteran forward from Virden averaged over a point per game, scoring five goals and seven assists in 10 games in December.

“Tyler has been our most consistent forward since Game 1 until now and he continues to show why he’s relied upon in different areas of the game. His hard work and tenacity leads our guys game in and game out,” said Jamie Hodson, director of business and hockey operations for the Oil Caps.

Kirkup currently leads the Oil Caps in scoring with 22 goals and 45 points in 38 games thus far this season (as of Jan. 8).

Nice work Tyler and congrats!
