Kuehn Brilliant in Win Over Portage

October 3

Winnipeg, MB – If anything was clear at the 2015 MJHL Showcase for the VIrden Oil Capitals it was that Sean Kuehn has picked up where he left off last season.

The Flower Mound, Texas product stopped 45 of 46 shots he faced in 2 games this weekend including an impressive 29 saves against the defending champs on Saturday afternoon.

The Oil Caps rode the wave of a hot powerplay on route to a 4-1 win in their Showcase finale.

Cody Durdle scored on the Oil Caps first shot of the game and Nolan Ross cashed in another moments later to open the scoring early. Both goals came on the powerplay.

Sticking with that theme. the Terriers got a PP marker of their own before the period was done as Keaton Leininger potted his 3rd of the year.

Jake Dudar and Nolan Ross (PP) would add 2nd period markers and that was all the Oil Caps would need as Sean Kuehn shut the door and lifted the Caps to their 3rd straight win and sets their record a 3-2 on the year.

The Caps will take the week off before taking on Wayway on the road next Friday.
