December 19

Virden, MB – If there is one thing that was certain as the month of December wound down, its that the Oil Caps and Dauphin Kings have created a heck of a rivalry.

The Oil Caps scored three in the first period to take a feisty affair 3-0 on Saturday at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.

Drake Bodie, Davis Ross and Mack Hardy each had a goal and an assist and Sean Kuehn made 26 saves for the shutout as the Caps got their revenge on the Kings following a 2-1 loss on Friday.

The two clubs combined for 52 penalty minutes on a night where scrums broke out virtually after every whistle.

It was a much better effort from the Caps who went 1/5 on the power play and 7 for 7 on the penalty kill.

The Caps move to 23-12 on the season and sit 8 points back of Steinbach for 3rd heading into the Christmas break.

The Caps find themselves eight points up on the Winnipeg Blues who are chasing them in the standings.

Next action for the Caps comes on December 29th when the Wayway Wolverines come to town.
