Leslie to Guest Coach at WJAC Camp

Virden, MB – As the Virden Oil Capitals prepare for a weekend set with the Steinbach Pistons, Head Coach Troy Leslie will be heading to Alberta to the Team West Selection Camp for the World Junior A Challenge. 

Leslie, has been named a guest coach for the selection camp that runs this weekend in Leduc, Alberta. 

Team West will have a prairie flavour as Tim Fragle (Sherwood Park, AJHL) heads up a staff that features Paul Dyck of the Steinbach Pistons and Mike Reagan of the SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers. 

Barry Wolff of the Coquitlam Express (BCHL) rounds out the coaching staff. 

Leslie will miss three games in Virden, including both this weekend vs Steinbach and next Tuesday vs OCN. 

The camp roster features seven players from the MJHL including Elkhorn’s Brett Orr. 

The Oil Caps games this weekend both begin at 7:30 with Friday’s game featuring the Teddy Bear Toss and Digger’s Birthday Celebration!
