Magwood Scores, Caps Beat Selkirk

February 5

Selkirk, MB – Morgan Magwood scored his first career MJHL goal on Friday night and it would stand up as the game winner as the Caps shutout Selkirk 2-0.

Sean Kuehn faced just 15 shots but kicked aside all of them to earn his 3rd shutout of the season.

In a quick paced opening period, both teams would exchange chances including a pair of powerplays each but noone could find the back of the net.

Hayden Dola would make 34 saves in the Selkirk net after being injured in the pre-game warmup and making a rather surprising start.

In the third, Morgan Magwood fired a seeing eye shot from the point that beat Dola to give the Caps a 1-0 lead.

Just seven minutes later Drake Bode and Devan Schram broke in on a 2 on 1. Bodie showed great patience and made an excellent pass cross ice for Schram to tap it in. For Schram, its his 15th of the year and 5th goal in three games.

With the win, the Caps expand their lead over the Winnipeg Blues in the standings to two points heading into tomorrow nights game vs Winkler.
