2019-2020 SEASON
December 2019 – Hunter Cloutier

Hunter Cloutier, the 19 year old Forward from Winnipeg, MB, is a third year veteran for the Oil Capitals.  Cloutier had an outstanding December, playing 7 games total, racking up 4 goals and 6 assists. The highlight of December was scoring a hat trick against the Steinbach Pistons at home, giving the Caps a 4-1 victory!  Cloutier is currently standing 4th overall in the League for points (51 total with a 1.34 Pt/Game average). 

Coach Tyson Ramsey is very pleased with Hunter’s effort and contribution to the team again this year, and felt he was a huge asset in December.  “Hunter is a very dynamic player and is one of those guys that has a natural gift to score goals.  He shoots the puck very well and he is starting to play with a ton of confidence.  He has been a go to guy for us all season.” 

Congratulations Hunter, we look forward to watching you in the later half of the season! 

 

November 2019 – Tanner Andrew

Tanner Andrew, the 19 year old Forward from Virden, is a two year veteran for the Oil Capitals. Tanner had 4 goals, and 9 assists through 11 games in November.  Andrew has scored 16 goals and 20 assists, totalling 36 points in 32 games, where he sits 3rd in team scoring and is currently standing sixth overall in the league for points. One of his highlight games was on November 29th against the Selkirk Steelers, when he chipped in a goal and an assist in an 8-4 victory at home!

“Tanner is a very deserving recipient of the November player of the month award. He has been at or near the top of the scoring race on our team in the league all season long.He is an elite skater with tremendous skill.He plays in all situations and can overwhelm opposition defence with his speed.We look forward to the second half of the season for Tanner and are certainly happy that he is part of our organization.  In saying this, we had so many guys who had great months, this is always a difficult award to hand out.  Guys up front putting points on the board, to Wodj on the backend, really starting to come into his own as a 20-year old.” Tyson Ramsey, Head Coach of the Oil Capitals.

Honorable Mentions: Jack Einarson, 19 year old, three year veteran for the Oil Capitals, tallied up 14 points in 11 games played throughout November, and his hard work and effort definitely did not go unnoticed.   19 year old, three year veteran, Hunter Cloutier also had a stellar month, with 8 goals in the month.  Not to be outdone, rookie goaltender Kyle Kozma had only 1 loss to go with his 5 wins as he really helped solidify the team’s goaltending in November.   

 

September/October 2019 – Kolten Kanaski + Hunter Cloutier

Kolten Kanaski, the 20 year old

Forward from Beausejour, MB, has been a huge asset for the Caps team thus far. In September and October, he had 18 Games Played, scoring 11 goals and 10 assists, tallying up a total of 21 points.
Hunter Cloutier, the 19 year old Forward from Winnipeg, has also made a positive impact for the team. He had 18 GP, scoring 9 goals and 13 assists, totalling up 22 points.
Tyson Ramsey, Head Coach of the Oil Capitals, had this to say about
the boys. “Kolten and Hunter have been a big part of our offence in the months of September and October. They play in all situations

and many nights against the opposition’s top players. They are highly skilled guys and are key pieces to our powerplay. We are extremely lucky to have them in our lineup on a nightly basis. We look forward to them continuing their hot start as they will be two of the guys we rely on to drive our offence.”
