Oct. 22nd & Oct. 23rd

Virden Oil Caps played Friday, October 22nd in Dauphin and Saturday, October 23rd in Virden.

On Friday in Dauphin the Oil Caps started the game off with 1 goal in the first period of play by Colin Cook assisted by Joey Bielik and Nathan McInnis. Dauphin scored 2 goals in the first ending the period 2-1 Kings.

Going into the second, Dauphin scored quick off the start on a power-play however, Virden hammered in 3 goals during the second half of the second frame.

Oil Caps Dylan Halliday scored his 8th of the season at 14:12 assisted by Buydens and Thoendel, Carson Buydens with his 5th of the season scored shortly after on a powerplay at 15:46 assisted by Oleksiuk and Fischer, and Bryden Kiesman with his 1st of the season at 17:46 assisted by Johnson and Fischer giving the Caps the lead at 4-3.

During the 3rd frame Oil Caps forward Tyler Thoendel scored just 46 seconds in assisted by Halliday and Fischer.

Parker Malchuk scored at 12:27 giving Dauphin their 4th goal of the night.

Carson Buydens scored his 6th of the season and second of the night assisted by Trevor Hunt at 17:02 ending the game 6-4 for Virden!

 

Saturday, Oct. 23rd

After the Oil Caps victory on Friday night, the Virden Oil Capitals lost in Saturday night’s final match up against the Dauphin Kings by a score of 5-1.

Brayden Dube scored Dauphins first of the game unassisted at 13:13 to give the Kings a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Kings continued to pour it on offensively in the third period, scoring another four goals. Jerriah Shantz at 3:26, Owen Wareham at 4:37, Kaden Bryant at 13:15 and Luke Morris at 16:47.

Oil Caps Colin Cook scored his 3rd of the season shortly after at 16:59 assisted by Jack Oleksiuk putting the Caps on the board.

With no goals scored in the 3rd period the game ended 5-1 for Dauphin.

 

The Oil Caps next action is October 29th against the Swan Valley Stampeders at the Swan River Centennial Arena. 7:30 puck drop.
