The Virden Oil Capitals are now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities for this position include, and are not limited to:
Assist the Head Coach with overall game day preparations both on and off the ice.
Assist the Head Coach with daily practices, on and off the ice.Assist the Head Coach with game video breakdown.
Assist and facilitate with players in media execution. i.e. Video/interviews/written stories.
Coordinate and assist in summer hockey school. i.e. Minor hockey aged hockey school.
Coordinate and assist in execution of spring and fall camps.
Coordinate and assist in team, community, and volunteer functions.
Desired Attributes
Enthusiastic/Positive individual with a passion to coach at a high level of Junior A hockey.
Strong written, verbal and computer skills.
Approachable personality / people-person.
Strong organizational skills.
Capable of working in a group as well as independently.
High level of success in previous coaching experience.
Have or has ability to attain hockey Manitoba and Hockey Canada coaching certificates.
A permanent part time position. Afternoons throughout the week and game nights. Where necessary for weekends dependent on game and practice schedules.
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
