Oil Capitals Hire Athletic Therapist and Solidify Equipment Manager Role

The Oil Capitals landed a new Athletic Therapist (Certification Candidate Athletic Therapist) just in time for the 2019-20 season.  Dana Warrener, originally from Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba, will occupy the position for this season and beyond.  Dana comes out of the University of Manitoba and is looking forward to working with the hockey club.

Dana wanted to say hi to her new community, “Hello my name is Dana Warrener and I am the new Certification Candidate Athletic Therapist that was recently hired on to the Virden Oil Capitals. I graduated from the University of Manitoba, with Bachelors of Athletic Therapy. I have worked with teams such as Bison Women’s Volleyball, and Bison Track & Field. I grew up on a small farm outside of Ste. Rose du Lac, MB. I am very excited to start my Athletic Therapy career with the Virden Oil Capitals. The coaching staff and players have been very welcoming. I am excited to see where the season takes us.”

Brian Mytopher will take on a more enhanced role with the hockey club this season. “Toph” will be the hockey club’s equipment manager. He is a huge hockey fan, and is relied upon heavily and very well respected in the dressing room by the players and the coaching staff. He has been instrumental in helping get the season started and assisting Dana with settling in to her new role.

GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey added: “We are very excited to have Dana and Toph on board.  Both are great people and carry such positive personalities.  The therapist and equipment manager are huge pieces of successful organizations. The working relationship between them and the players and coaches is a vital part of winning. We are delighted with having Dana and Toph involved with the team and hopefully for the long term.”
