Oil Caps come away with big win over Stamps

The Virden Oil Capitals remain undefeated in the month of November after taking down the Stampeders by a score of 3-1 in Swan Valley on Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first period, veteran forward Jeran Knorr scored his 10th of the season at the 10:07 mark of the second to give the Oil Caps a 1-0 lead. Graeme Hore picked up his sixth of the season less than two minutes later to make it 2-0 Virden.

Noah Basarab replied for Swan Valley at the 1:18 mark of the third to cut the lead to 2-1 before Kyle Salaway scored an empty netter with less than a minute to go to ice the contest for the Oil Caps.

Dalton Dosch stopped 26 of 27 shots to pick up the win for Virden, while Brett Evans turned aside 37 shots between the pipes in the loss for Swan Valley.
