Oil Caps fall 5-2 to Blizzard in second game of back-to-back

The Virden Oil Capitals ended up dropping a 5-2 decision to the Blizzard in OCN on Wednesday night.

Tony Apetagon opened the scoring for the Blizzard at the 3:32 mark before Kyle Salaway netted his 11th tally of the season nearly five minutes later, tying the contest at one apiece.

The third saw Hunter Cloutier pick up his fifth goal of the season at the 2:05 mark to tie the contest 2-2 before OCN responded with three unanswered as Brady Valiquette, Anthony Keeper and Apetagon’s second of the night sealed the game for the Blizzard.

Emilien Boily picked up the win in net for OCN, while Riley McVeigh took the loss between the pipes for Virden.

Next up for the Oil Caps: back-to-back home games against the Steinbach Pistons on Friday and Saturday night. Puck drop for both games slated for 7:30 p.m.
