Oil Caps fall to Blizzard in second game of back-to-back

The Oil Capitals lost 4-1 to the OCN Blizzard in the second game of a back-to-back on Saturday night in Virden.

The game started off promising as Kyle Salaway opened the scoring less than a minute into the contest to make it 1-0 for Virden but that was all the offence the club would muster on this night.

OCN responded with four unanswered the rest of the way to pick up the win as Byron Fobair, Thomas Hansell, Anthony Keeper and Daniel Chartrand scored for the Blizzard as they improved their record to 7-2-1-0 on the season.

Elilien Boily stopped 47 of 48 shots to pick up the win between the pipes for OCN, while Riley McVeigh turned aside 18 of 22 shots directed his way in the defeat.

With the loss, the Oil Caps fell to 7-3-0-0 on the year.

The Oil Caps next game action is on Thursday night when they host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at Tundra Oil and Gas Place.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
