The Virden Oil Capitals were honoured at the 1st Annual Virden Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala on Thursday night.
The dinner was an opportunity for the Chamber to recognize local business’s and entrepreneurs for their efforts during the past year.
With the Oil Caps not necessarily fitting into the categories, Organizers at the Chamber wanted to thank the Virden Oil Capitals for their contribution to the community.
Manager Amanda Isaac says they created a new award with only one nominee.
“We wanted to recognize the Virden Oil Capitals for everything they’ve done for the community. They didn’t fit into one of the other categories so we decided to create a new category for excellence within the community.”
Isaac spoke at the dinner about the impact the team has had on the community of Virden, from volunteering to the Foundation giving back.
The Oil Caps would like to thank the Chamber and the entire business community for this award.
