OIL CAPS TAKE GAME 3 IN OT

The Virden Oil Capitals won their 3rd game in the series against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines last night in OT!

Dylan Halliday put the Caps on the board early in the first with assists from Joey Bielik and Carson Buydens. Later on, in the period Carson Buydens scored adding to the Oil Caps lead making it 2-0 to head into the second.

Out of Wayway’s 3 powerplays in the first period no one was able to get past Goaltender Bailey Monteith.

In the second, there were no goals scored.

The third period started off with some commotion as Wayway’s Andrew Boucher scored at 2:02 shortening the Oil Caps 2 goal lead, but that wasn’t all to start off the third period. Joey Moffatt scored a short 26 seconds after Boucher taking the Oil Caps lead away completely and tying the game.

The game got interesting as the teams began to battle back and forth.

Oil Caps Colin Cook scored just over 5 minutes after Wayway tied the game up. The Caps once again had a 1 goal advantage until Reagan Rabbit scored with 2 minutes and 15 seconds left in the third period followed by Oil Cap Colin Cook for his second of the night at 18:54 off a rebound in front of the net.

The Oil Caps had the lead, however, with just one second left on the clock Wayway’s Joey Moffatt scored on a man advantage sending the game into yet another overtime!
