PLAISIER SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT

The Virden Oil Caps are very excited to announce that hometown product Ty Plaisier has committed to the hockey club for the 2022-2023 season.

The 2005, left shot defenceman was an auto protect of the Virden Oil Caps ahead of the 2020 MJHL Draft and has spent the last 2 seasons with the Southwest Cougars in the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League. In his time with the Cougars, Plaisier has played in 51 regular season games and has 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. He was also a 4th round pick (74th overall) of the Regina Pats in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
Oil Caps GM and Head Coach Tyson Ramsey was very excited to sign Plaisier to a letter of intent for next season.
“We are very proud that Ty has chosen to sign a letter of intent with us for next season. It is always exciting for us and our fans when players from our community want to stay and play their junior hockey with their hometown team,” said Ramsey.
“Not only that but Ty is such a great player. He brings a little of everything, he is a big body who gets around the ice well and has some very good offensive instincts. He has a good stick, defends well and is tough to play against. He is having a very good season with the Cougars and we very much look forward to having him join us next year. We would like to welcome Ty and his family to the Oil Caps organization.”
