Ray Walker is set to commentate the 2017-2018 season on CHANNEL 1, Brandon’s new internet radio station and on HockeyTV.com.
“Having the Oil Caps on CHANNEL 1 is very exciting for our new station” said Ray Walker, Interlake Broadcast Group President. “Its an opportunity for us to reach thousands of hockey fans, no matter where they may live on a nightly basis. The MJHL is an exciting brand of hockey and our listeners will instantly connect with this team, and the players” he added.
Ray Walker, who has called the teams games since their inception in Virden in 2012, will call all regular season and playoff road games on CHANNEL 1. Walker had previously called the games on his Internet station BIG FM, until the 2015 season.
“We’re excited to have Ray bring his professional voice to the Oil Caps. Rays passion for the team can be heard through his broadcasting. We look forward to having Channel 1 as a broadcasting partner for the 2018/19 season.” Stated Oil Capitals management.
