Returning Player Profile: Josh Belcher

Over the whole month of August, we will be showcasing the returning players, with a: Returning Player profile.

With camp soon around the corner we thought it would be a good idea to give the fans a little background on the 17 returning players from last year’s team.

The next returning profile is Josh Belcher

Belcher, 20, is a Rapid City, MB native who is in his final season with the Oil Capitals.

Belcher didn’t get off to the best of starts in his early days as an Oil Cap, registering six goals, and nine points in 50 games.

In his second season Belcher started to show his potential on the score sheet finding the back of the net 14 times in his sophomore campaign and finished the season with 43 points, good for 6th in team scoring.

Belcher added two goals and two assists in the playoffs.

This past year saw Belcher set a career high in goals (18) and points (44) and was a point a game in the limited playoffs that were played last year.

Look for Belcher to play a prominent role in the top six this year for Oil Caps.
