Game Summary – Virden’s defenseman Trevor Hunt opened the scoring at 15:19. Hunt’s goal came on the powerplay as Carson Baptiste of the Wolverines was in the penalty box for interference. Hunt scored the only goal scored during the first 20 minutes of play.

In the second Wolverine forward Kolten Shindle scored just 5 minutes in tying up the game. Later on, the period 20-year-old forward Colin Cook scored regaining the Caps lead.

During the final period, the only goal scored just shy of 5 minutes into the final period was by Wayway’s Reagan Rabbit who tied up the game 2-2.

Add yet another Oil Caps playoff game that has been sent to overtime. Captain Logan Rands scored the overtime winning goal at 7:31 on an end-to-end rush where his initial shot was blocked by the Wolverine defender, but Rands stayed with it and ended the game, giving the Caps a 1-0 series lead.

Virden Oil Capitals Bailey Monteith stood tall and played nearly 68-minutes, stopping 32 out of 34 shots and assisting with the 3-2 overtime win for the Caps!
