Salaway Signs in Oil Capital

Virden, MB – The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce that 1997-born forward Kyle Salaway has committed to the club for the 2015-2016 season and beyond.

The 6’1 Estevan, SK product spent last season with the Battelfords Stars of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. 

In 44 games, Salaway potted 16 goals and added 29 assists to finish tied for 18th in league scoring. 

“Kyle is an intelligent player who understands the game” said Oil Caps Director of Player Personnel Chad Leslie. 

“Having him at our spring camp it became apparent that he is a very mature young man and is an all around good person.”

Salaway is the 2nd SMAAAHL player to sign in the Oil Capital this off-season following the signing of Swift Current Legionnaires defenseman Evan Armstrong. 

“We know that in due time, Kyle will be a very offensive player in our league.” added Leslie. 

Salaway and the rest of the Oil Caps will hit the ice at Tundra Oil & Gas Place on Friday, August 28th for the first day of Fall Camp.
