Saturday night’s final matchup against the Stampeders was a penalty filled game in which the Oil Capitals took the Win!
The first period consisted of 5 penalties and no goals.
The second period was packed full of penalties along with 2 goals. Braden Fischer scoring his 11th of the season assisted by Dylan Halliday on the powerplay just 48 seconds in along with Jackson Betcher scoring at 15:42 and tying up the game. Penalties during the second were Bray Rookes- fighting & Game misconduct, Callum Fortin – Fighting & Game misconduct, Jamie Valention – Slashing, Dylan Halliday – Cross checking, and Collin Cook kneeing X2 and Holding.
In the third period Noah Fladager started the scoring off at 4:20 on a power-play giving the Stampeders the lead however it wasn’t held long with Logan Rands responding just short of 5 minutes later with his 3rd of the season at 8:51 tying the game back up.
The scoring continued for the Oil Caps as Tyler Thoendel scored on a powerplay at 13:38 followed by Carson Buydens 1 minute later also on a powerplay giving the Oil Caps a 2-goal lead.
Swans Carter Cockburn scored towards the end of period putting them one goal behind however it wasn’t enough and the Oil Caps took the Win 4-3.
