Oil Cap Nate Schaefer has been named an MJHL Star of the week for December 29th, 2025 – January 4th, 2026.
Schaefer got off to a strong start in 2026, making an impact from the blue line in both Oil Caps games during their opening week road trip. The defenceman recorded 3 assists in the team’s game in The Pas against the Norman Blizzard, showcasing his poise with the puck and ability to move play offensively. He followed that performance the next night with a goal and an assist against the Swan Valley Stampeders, finishing the two-game stretch with 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points.
Playing in all situations, Schaefer logged important minutes and contributed at both ends of the ice. His strong decision-making, offensive instincts, and steady defensive play were key factors in the Oil Caps success to begin the new year.
