Schram Tabbed as Oil Caps’ Top Player in January

Devan Schram has been named the Virden Oil Capitals MNP Player of the Month for the month of January.

The third-year forward from Winnipeg led the team in scoring during the month of January with 11 points (2 G, 9 A) in 10 games to help guide the Oil Caps to a 6-2-2 record.

Schram currently sits second on the team in scoring with 47 points (15 G, 32 A) in 49 games on the season. He recently surpassed the 100 career points plateau on January 23rd in Dauphin when he registered a pair of assists in the shoot out loss.

Virden currently sits in a tie for 4th place in the standings with the Winkler Flyers after a dramatic come from behind overtime win in Winkler on Sunday where Schram played the role of overtime hero. The Oil Caps will sit idle until Saturday when they travel to Dauphin to face the Kings. Game time is 7 pm at Dauphin Credit Union Place.
