SHUTOUT WIN

The Virden Oil Capitals hosted the Selkirk Steelers Saturday, November 27th at Tundra Oil & Gas Place. This being the third match up during regular season between these two teams this year the Virden Oil Capitals came out on top 4-0.

Colin Cook opened the scoring with his 4th of the season at 4:54 assisted by Logan Rands and Nathan McInnis. Dylan Halliday added to the Oil Capitals lead at 5:45 for his 16th of the season assisted by Braden Fischer and Trevor Hunt. The lead was held by the Oil Caps heading into the second 2-0.

The Oil Caps kept the momentum going during the first intermission and furthered their lead with Parker Johnson scoring the 3rd goal of the game for the Caps and his 5th of season unassisted 2 minutes into the second period.

During the third, Oil Caps forward Dylan Halliday scored his second of the night, 17th of the season and 4th goal for the Oil Caps at 9:46 unassisted.

The Oil Caps not only skated to the 4-0 victory; 18-year-old Goaltender Eric Reid saved all 31 shots on net to take his First MJHL Shutout win!

The Virden Oil Capitals next home action is this Friday, December 3rd against the visiting Winkler Flyers! 7:30 puck drop at Tundra Oil & Gas Place!
