Solid performances for Oil Caps on Day 2 of MJHL/SJHL Showcase

Members of the Virden Oil Capitals performed well on Day 2 of the MJHL/SJHL Showcase in Regina.

Oil Caps forward Kolten Kanaski scored for Team Garbutt as they defeated Team Schwartz (SJHL) by a score of 5-2. Team Garbutt also included Oil Caps blueliners Justin Lee and Jayden Wojciechowski.

In Game 2 of the day, Oil Caps netminder Riley McVeigh turned aside 19 of 23 shots for Team Belfour as they dropped a tightly-contested 4-3 decision in overtime to Team Mitchell (SJHL). Team Belfour also included Virden blueliner Tristen Cross.

In Game 3 of the day, Oil Caps forward Kyle Salaway picked up an assist for Team Zajac who fell to Team Kunitz (SJHL) 5-2. Team Zajac also included Oil Cap forwards Tyler Kirkup and Ben Dalke.

Great job to all Oil Caps players who took part as well as head coach and GM Troy Leslie, who was an assistant coach for Team Garbutt!
