Steinbach Finds Another Gear

Steinbach, MB – Julien Koga had a breakout night as the Steinbach Pistons snapped the Oil Capitals 4 game win streak with a 5-2 win at the TG Smith Centre on Saturday. 

Koga had 2 goals and an assist to lead the way for a Pistons team that is red hot right now, winning their 6th in a row. 

Koga and Devan Schram would exchange first period goals before the Pistons broke it open in the 2nd. 

Three un-answered goals put Steinbach up 4-1 heading to the third. 

Dennis Bosc and Ben Dalke would exchange third period goals, but the Oil Caps couldn’t mount a comeback. 

Sean Kuehn made 32 saves while Roman Bengert kicked aside 30 shots for the victory. 

Overall it was a successful week for the Oil Caps who picked up 6 of a possible 8 points with wins over Selkirk, Wayway and Neepawa. 

Its right back to work this week as the Caps welcome the Dauphin Kings on Wednesday night.
