The Virden Oil Capitals would like to congratulate #7, Tanner Andrew on being selected for the November Player of the Month! The Oil Capitals Player of the Month is brought to you by Cochrane Stock Farms of Oak Lake. For all your local Gravel and Equipment needs; contact Cochrane Stock Farms at csf@wcgwave.ca.

Tanner Andrew, the 19 year old Forward from Virden, is a two year veteran for the Oil Capitals. Tanner had 4 goals, and 9 assists through 11 games in November.  Andrew has scored 16 goals and 20 assists, totalling 36 points in 32 games, where he sits 3rd in team scoring and is currently standing sixth overall in the league for points. One of his highlight games was on November 29th against the Selkirk Steelers, when he chipped in a goal and an assist in an 8-4 victory at home!

“Tanner is a very deserving recipient of the November player of the month award. He has been at or near the top of the scoring race on our team in the league all season long.  He is an elite skater with tremendous skill.  He plays in all situations and can overwhelm opposition defence with his speed.  We look forward to the second half of the season for Tanner and are certainly happy that he is part of our organization.  In saying this, we had so many guys who had great months, this is always a difficult award to hand out.  Guys up front putting points on the board, to Wodj on the backend, really starting to come into his own as a 20-year old.” Tyson Ramsey, Head Coach of the Oil Capitals.

Honorable Mentions: Jack Einarson, 19 year old, three year veteran for the Oil Capitals, tallied up 14 points in 11 games played throughout November, and his hard work and effort definitely did not go unnoticed.   19 year old, three year veteran, Hunter Cloutier also had a stellar month, with 8 goals in the month.  Not to be outdone, rookie goaltender Kyle Kozma had only 1 loss to go with his 5 wins as he really helped solidify the team’s goaltending in November.

Congratulations boys, we can’t wait to continue watching you thrive in the upcoming months!
