The Oil Caps pick up a huge win against the Terriers!

The Oil Caps pull off a huge win with Peterson saving 47 shots. The first period kicked off with an early Terriers goal to make the score 1-0. Late in the period Virden scored a rolling goal to tie the game going into the second period. The second period saw 2 good Virden goals to make the score 3-1 A late Terriers goal in the third period made the final score 3-2. 

The first period scoring kicked off with the Terriers Kolton Shindle scoring his 21st of the season unassisted, at 3:52 to make the score 1-0. Later in the period Oil Caps Colin Cook scored his 3rd on a rolling goal at 14:35 to tie the game 1-1. 

The second period saw Oil Caps Kolten Kanaski score his 27th at 7:15 to make the score 2-1 for Virden. The Oil Caps extended their lead to 2-1 when Hunter Andrew scored his 12th of the season at 13:38 to make the score 3-1. 

The third period was fairly evenly matched with just one goal scored by the Terriers Koby Morrisseau at 19:02 but it wasn’t enough with the Oil Caps taking the win with a final score of 3-2. 

Virden’s Ethan Peterson took the win stopping 47 of 49 shots for a save percentage of 95.1%. Portage’s Nathan Moore took home the loss stopping just 24 of 27 shots for a save percentage of 88.9%.
