Oil Capitals forward Tyson Ulmer has been named to the 2025-26 RBC – MJHL Community Ambassador Team.
The RBC – MJHL Community Ambassador Team is comprised of one player from each MJHL team and has displayed outstanding citizenship and sportsmanship both on and off the ice and a commitment to volunteerism. RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to their communities where they play.
Tyson is always eager to give back, volunteering his time in a variety of local programs and events in the Town of Virden. To name a few, this season he’s helped decorate Smile Cookies at Tim Hortons, spent time in senior homes playing games and connecting with residents, and supported students at the local elementary schools through intramural soccer, breakfast programs, and even helped paint boxes for the school’s upcoming Christmas concert.
Tyson demonstrates strong leadership through his consistent commitment to community involvement. Whether he’s lending a hand at school events, or building connections with seniors, his actions show maturity beyond his years and highlight his ability to lead through service. On the ice, Tyson leads through his work ethic and consistency. He competes hard every shift, communicates well with teammates, and stays focused in high-pressure moments. His dedication, kindness, and willingness to get involved make him a standout role model in our community and a valued representative of the Oil Caps organization.
At the conclusion of the regular season, one RBC – MJHL Community Ambassador will be named as the recipient of the RBC Community Award, which comes with a further donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.
Tyson will be recognized by RBC for his accomplishment at the beginning of Thursday night’s Oil Caps game where we host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
