Winnipeg Sings the Blues in Virden

Virden, MB – It was a parade to the penalty box on Friday night as the Oil Caps knocked off the Winnipeg Blues on the strength of three power play goals. 

In a game that saw 21 minor penalties handed out, a pair of double minors and a spirited third period tilt it was the Oil Caps offense that found the extra edge. 

Dylan Thiessen’s power play marker early in the third stood up as the game winner even as the Blues pressed for the equalizer late in the game. 

Zach Whitecloud was named the game’s first star after recording 3 assists on the night, Devan Schram had a goal and assist as well. 

Kyle Bird and Nolan Ross had the other Oil Caps goals. 

Sean Kuehn made 24 saves in the Caps crease while Scott Parsons made 30 saves for the Blues. 

The Caps will head to Dauphin tomorrow night. 

Game time is 7:00.
