Worthington Named to Team Canada West

Oil Cap Colten Worthington has been selected to play for Team Canada West at the Junior A World Challenge in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, from December 7-13.

In early November Worthington attended the Western All-Star Challenge which was the pre-selection camp in which he earned his spot on this Team Canada West Team.

Worthington had this to say about making the team, “I’m super excited and honoured to be selected for this tournament. It’s going to be a great experience wearing the maple leaf and not only getting to represent Canada but representing Virden as well!”

The Junior A World Challenge is a tournament that consists of 4 teams – Canada East, Canada West, Sweden, and the United States. Each team will play 3 round robin games over the first four days of competition. Those results will determine the semifinal matchups on December 12, with the event concluding on December 15, featuring the bronze medal game followed by the gold medal game.

We are very proud of Colten for making the Team Canada West roster.  He has been a key part of our team since joining us from the WHL.  Colten is an outstanding player and teammate, and we are so excited to watch him compete for our country.” Said Oil Caps Head Coach & GM Tyson Ramsey.
