The Virden Oil Capitals are pleased to partner with the Portage Terriers for our Annual 2025 Highway Lotto.
“With both organizations in the MJHL hosting their own Lotto’s over the last number of years, conversations happened this past fall on coming together to create a bigger and more exciting Lotto, with the goal of benefiting each organization and their fan base”, explains Craig Davidson, Chairman of the Board for Virden Hockey Ventures.
With any initiative that helps support Junior “A” Hockey across the country and for both organizations being “Not for Profit” enterprises, raising funds to cover operations from year to year requires teams to keep things fresh and new.
We have had a guarantee of $25,000 payout on our previous Highway Lotto’s here in Virden and have seen the payout as high as $50,320! Thanks to the folks in a broader community and the businesses that have supported us in achieving this guarantee in the past.
Partnering with the Portage Terriers in 2025 will allow us to start with a base guarantee of $50,000 payout up front and with hopes to see it go much higher. The idea of connecting fans, business partners and interested parties from the Saskatchewan border to Winnipeg along #1 Highway makes nothing but sense. More awareness, more business exposure and teams working together for the betterment of their organizations is what we need to do to keep Junior “A” Hockey thriving in our smaller communities.
Our goals are to create a sense of community, provide great entertainment value and allow players a path onto the next level in hockey or the next phase in their life.
Our community support has been tremendous, and we think this new approach with our Lotto will allow us to give back in a greater way.
Don’t wait to get your ticket as the early bird usually gets the worm, as they say.
