CD Oilwell Player of the Month

Each month during this 2025/26 hockey season, we have partnered with CD Oilwell Services to bring you the “Player of the Month”. This player will be recognized for his positive contributions on and off the ice.

The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce Ty Plaisier as the CD Oilwell Player of the Month for November 2025.

A physical defensemen, Ty had a great month, playing in 7 games and recording 1 goal and 6 assists for a total of 7 points.

His ability to contribute offensively while maintaining a physical and responsible defensive game made him a key part of the Oil Capitals success throughout November.

Head Coach Tyson Ramsey had this to say about Plaisier:

“Ty played in 7 November games and put up 1 goal and 6 assists for 7 points to go along with 32 penalty minutes. Ty logs a lot of minutes in all situations and plays mostly against the opposition’s best players.”

The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce Bryce Bryant as the CD Oilwell Player of the Month for October 2025.

The NCAA Division I Bemidji State University commit had an outstanding month, playing in all 9 games and recording 8 goals and 9 assists for a total of 17 points.

Bryce’s strong performance throughout October helped lead the Oil Caps to several key wins. His consistency, offensive creativity, and ability to impact every game have made him a key piece of the Oil Caps success so far this season.

Head Coach Tyson Ramsey had this to say about Bryant:

“Bryce played in all 9 of the Oil Caps games in October, amassing 8 goals and 9 assists for 17 points and currently sits in 6th place in MJHL scoring. Bryce plays with speed and skill and is a leader on and off the ice.”

The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce London Hoilett as the CD Oilwell Player of the Month for September 2025.

Hoilett was a key contributor in the Oil Caps first month of the season, appearing in all four games and recording 3 goals and 1 assist for a total of 4 points. His consistent effort and leadership helped set the tone for a strong start to the year.

Head Coach Tyson Ramsey praised Hoilett’s impact both on and off the ice:

“London Hoilett led our team in September on and off the ice. In 4 September games he had 3 goals and an assist and his tireless work ethic on and off the ice was a major factor in our season getting off to a positive start. London is a great role model for our younger players and for young people in our community.”

February’s player of the month is #17 Tyler Dodgson!! Tyler has played all 11 games in February earning himself 4 goals and 2 assists giving him 6 points!

January 2025

The CD Oilwell Services player of the month for January 2025 goes to #35 Loic Morin. Throughout the month of January Loic has a GAA of 1.74, 222 saves, and SV% of 0.941!!

December 2024

The CD Oilwell Services player of the month for December 2024 goes to #7 Bryce Bryant. Bryce has played in all 7 games in December earning himself 4 goals and 3 assists!!

November 2024

The CD Oilwell Services player of the month for November goes to #28 Noel Englot. Noel has played 10 games in November getting 6 goals and 7 assists which gives him 13 points!!

October 2024

The CD Oilwell Services player of the month for October goes to #21 Ethan Guthrie. Ethan has played in all 10 games in October getting 1 goal and 4 assists which gives him 5 points!!

Nolan Chastko, an 18-year-old forward from Brandon, MB, plays for the Virden Oil Capitals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). Demonstrating impressive skills in November, Chastko participated in 8 games, scoring 7 goals and contributing 1 assist, amassing a total of 8 points. His noteworthy performance highlights his scoring prowess and potential as a key player for the team.

Eric Reid, #31, a hometown talent from Virden, MB, stands as a formidable 19-year-old goaltender for the Virden Oil Capitals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. His October performance was nothing short of remarkable, playing in 12 games and securing 9 impressive victories while enduring only 3 losses. Eric maintained a stellar 2.23 Goals Against Average (GAA) and an outstanding .917 Save Percentage, showcasing his unwavering reliability between the pipes.

Eric’s consistency and ability to come through in critical moments make him an invaluable asset to the team.

CD Oilwell Services LTD. Player of the month for September – #27 Josh Lehto!!

Josh Lehto, #27, hailing from Thunder Bay, ON, is a 19-year-old forward for the Virden Oil Capitals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. In a stellar performance during the month of September, Josh played 5 games, scoring 4 goals, and notching an impressive 8 assists, tallying up a total of 12 points. His dynamic playmaking and scoring ability have undoubtedly been instrumental to the team’s success.
