The Oil Caps Win in OT Against the Blues as Injuries Plague the Team

The Oil Caps pulled off an OT win against the Blues with 3 AP’s playing as injuries plague the team. The first period kicked off with an early Virden goal to make the score an easy 1-0. The second period kicked off with a Winnipeg goal to make the score tied at 1-1. The third period was scoreless and tied in shots which forced an OT. The OT was short and ended in the 2-1 victory for the Oil Caps over the Blues. 

The first period saw just one goal scored by Virden’s Jack Einarson his 15th of the season at 10:21 to make the score 1-0. 

The second period saw a goal by Winnipeg’s Matt McLeod, scoring his 2nd of the season at 3:39 to tie the game 1-1. 

The third period was scoreless which forced an OT. 

The OT period was quick, just 1:11 on the power play Jack Einarson scored his second of the game to make the final score 2-1 for the Oil Caps. 

Virden’s Kyle Kozma took the win stopping 23 of 24 shots put against him for a save percentage of 95.8%. Winnipeg’s Cooper Hatfield took the loss stopping 37 of 39 shots for a save percentage of 94.9%.
