Awards Banquet a Huge Success

The Virden Oil Capitals hosted their 4th annual Awards Banquet last night in the Sunrise Banquet Hall at Tundra Oil and Gas Place. 

Over 300 people were in attendance as the Oil Caps wrapped up the 2015/2016 season and get set to start the MJHL Playoffs. 

Governor Bob Berry was the MC of the evening and did a fantastic job keeping the crowd entertained. 

MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis was in attendance and spoke to the crowd about the growth of the Oil Caps since their entrance into the league four short years ago. 

Team President Dale Lewis, GM & Head Coach Troy Leslie, Captain Brett Sharples and Marketing Manager Branden Crowe all spoke to the crowd about the successes of this past season from various departments. 

The crowd enjoyed a spectacular prime rib dinner put on by Amaryllis Eatery and was kept well watered by the Virden Oil Kings Sr Hockey Team who worked the bar for the evening. 

The club handed out their year end awards with Sean Kuehn taking home the most hardware with three trophies including MVP, Unsung Hero and the Three Star Award. 

The evening concluding with the annual live jersey auction which raised over $20,000 for the Oil Caps Foundation. 

The Oil Caps would like to thank everyone that attended the evening and made it another successful season.
