Caps Acquire Another Cusmano

September 26

Virden, MB - Oil Caps acquire 1997 born, defenceman Evan Cusmano from Weyburn Red Wings of the SJHL for Future Considerations.
The 6’2” defenceman played in 32 games last season for Weyburn registering 4 assists and 56 penalty minutes.  This season E.Cusmano tied up the skates for two games with Weyburn before being traded to the Oil Caps.

The brother of Dylan Cusmano played his first game with the Oil Capitals last night against Portage Terriers. E.Cusmano registered his first point (1 assist) as a Cap assisting Jesse Korytko’s goal.  “ It was awesome for Evan to register an assist in his first game – he didn’t have a whole lot of points last year and I think this will give him that little confidence boost that he needs.”

It has been a couple years since the two brothers have played hockey together but they are looking forward to having that opportunity again. D.Cusmano said, “ It’s been since Bantam that we have played together, so it has been awhile but we train together in the summers.”
D.Cusmano’s initial reaction to having his brother on the Caps team with him was excitement. “ My brother coming here is awesome, it’s just like being back home.”

The brothers in the past have been known as the ‘Bash Brother.’ “Hopefully we can get the fans behind us and go and have some big hits,” said D.Cusmano.

The Oil Caps next game is this Tuesday against Winkler Flyers – next home game is Sunday, October 2 vs Winnipeg Blues.
