LETTERS OF INTENT SIGNED

The Virden Oil Capitals are pleased to inform everyone that we have two Letters of Intent to announce this week.

Ethan Guthrie (2004) from the Brandon U18 Wheat Kings and Matthew Renville (2004) from the Winnipeg U18 Bruins have both signed letters of intent with the club for next season.

Ethan Guthrie, a 6’, 180-pound defenceman has played with the U18 Brandon Wheat Kings for the last 3 seasons. Throughout 64 games played, Guthrie has chipped in with 35 points.

Matthew Renville, a 5’10”, 177-pound defenceman has played with the Winnipeg Bruins for the last 3 seasons as well and has 10 points in 40 regular season games.

Both players will be welcome additions to the Oil Caps roster for next season.

Head Coach and GM Tyson Ramsey had this to say about the signings:

“We are very excited to officially add Ethan and Matthew to our organization for next season.  In Ethan we get a player that is very skilled and plays a very mature game.  He defends well, makes a good first pass and has an ability to kill penalties or quarterback a powerplay.  He is a leader on and off the ice and will fit in here immediately.

Matthew has a well-rounded game and has really developed a lot in the last couple years.  He is a big body that plays hard and he is an excellent teammate.  He will be an asset to the skilled guys we have on the backend.  This is a very good day for our organization and we would like to welcome both guys and their families to Virden!”
